HOLY CHRIST

Who was Jacob Arthur?

Anonymous asked: Where are you guys from? I was digging the music on band camp!

Yo! Thanks a lot, dug! We’re from in and around the Lehigh Valley area of Pecilvein, Ya.

.famine.

Ay, y’all. So, I suppose the cat’s out of the evironmentally friendly bag: we’ve been working on dat new shit.

What’s “dat new shit”? Our first EP, man! We’re beyond excited to share this with everyone finally. We just put up a little demo of two songs up on our Band Camp that will be included in the overall five songs on the EP.

The record will be titled “.famine.” and while we don’t want to give too much away yet, so as to leave your brains with something to think on besides weed and great snacks, it is the telling of one larger story and if you do a little snooping around the interweb, you could totally find out some main characters. Fun, huh?! The songs on our Band Camp are titled “Dear Jacob” and “gluttony.repulsion.famine.” and they are Chapters One and Four, respectively.

The demo can be heard by following the link above. Please, please, please read along with the lyrics for an insight into the story. Seriously so stoked to be able to show people these. We’ve been working hard as shit. Thank you.

Also, hope to see everyone at this tonight as well! We’re properly premiering all five songs tonight if that’s any incentive to go… as if you needed another one over Loma Prieta. You sly dog, you.

Hey there, anyone. We just kind of wanted to post a little something detailing our appreciation of everything so far and things to come. Last night we played our third show ever and had a fucking blast, again. It’s very strange to think how many of you genuinely enjoy what we’re doing and for that, we couldn’t be more gracious and thakful… unless you’re pretending and, if that’s the case, totally keep it up because you’re way better at it than you might think. All we wanted to do with this band was make music that we like to make and just have a good time doing it and, even though we’ve said this before, we’re just so happy that anyone is even into it. For real, we’ll probably never not say that. It’s hard starting the process over from scratch of being in a full-time band again but it’s just so awesome to have the support of those of you reading this. So, thank you.

ANYFUCKINGWAY. If you find the previous post on here, you’ll see that our plan was to release two Band Camp demos, well, things change. We intended to do that but none of our schedules ever met up or things just got in the way or whatever else so we still have yet to record that but for now, we’ll be putting it on the proverbial backburner (backboner) to complete the songs for our debut ep which will be out early next year somehow. We’re so beyond excited about these songs and we can’t wait to play them in the full context of how they should be performed so, in order to do that, we should probably finish them, ya?

So, anyway, that’s wassup for now. Last night was probably the last show we’ll be playing for the year unless we happen to jump on one last minute or some shit which probably won’t happen. So, again, thank you to anyone who’s been down these past few months, it means everything. Here’s to getting weird in 2012.

Happy Festivus.

See you tomorrow.

Welcome.

So, uh… hey everyone. Welcome to the first of, hopefully, many smarmy/ informational blog posts. We are Holy Christ and some of you may know us from our old band, REGIONS, some of you may know us as friends, and most of you probably don’t know us at all but, let’s change that, yeah?

Anyway, after the disbanding of REGIONS, Pat and I (Brad) decided to pursue our own musical project showcasing our mutual love for hardcore, post and otherwise, and our mutual love for music in general. We’ve been hard at work over the last three months perparing songs and ourselves for the new journey ahead of us. Having to start a band from scratch is both daunting and extremely exciting. We’ve been having the time of our lives creating these songs that we’re both very proud of and we can’t wait to show them to all of you but, now that the old meet-and-greet is out of the way, let’s talk about these songs some more:

Next Tuesday (8/30), we will be releasing the first of two two-song digital demos as a “pay what you want” download. We hope you would be kind enough to push us $2.00 for it (this is what we’ll be charging at shows for physical copies) but, if you want the shit fuh free, then that’s wassup, too. We also want a lot of shit for free so we know how that goes.

The demo will be titled “The Hope/ The Loss ” and you will be able to listen to/ download it via our Band Camp page because Band Camp is cool, right? Right. The tracklisting is as follows:

1. A Consignment’s Corrosion

2. South Fourth Street

Like I said, this is the first of two so expect news within the next few months or so regarding the second which will be out toward the fall. If you’re into this (and I assume you are, otherwise, why would you be reading this at all?) be sure to “like” us on Facebook for updates on everything from shows to recording to our friends to whatever else. Probably a lot of “<3”s but that’s okay. Alright, I’m rambling.

I think that’s it for now, cheers.
